You can count on me to support local arts. It might just take me a decade to do so.
What I knew
I knew it was about a wolfman who is also a cop.
Locally made B movie. I think they won a contest with the idea to get some funding, maybe?
And a guy from my old Toastmasters club had a small role as a store clerk.
What I know
This was exactly what I expected. Short, dumb, and fun. I’ll check out the sequel at some point in the next 10 years.
Well, almost exactly what I was expecting. There was a lot more pee than I would have counted on going in.
Lou Garou? Great name.
It looked like everyone had a ton of fun making this. Victor killed it with his two lines. It’s especially fun for me because I’ve never heard him cuss outside of the context of wolf-cop sightings.
I didn’t recognize as many of the filming locations as I was expecting. It all looked only somewhat familiar, like “yeah, this feels like it’s around here.” Unlike Corner Gas: The Movie which was filled with local scenery, I think most of WolfCop was filmed in Moose Jaw.
The absolute best part was one of the songs on the soundtrack. I absolutely cackled when it kicked in. I didn’t see it coming and yet it made such perfect sense. Laser targeted to Canadians of a certain age who watched a certain TV movie.
